As seen on TV!  On 'Trust me. I'm a Doctor' tests were carried out to see if eating turmeric had any effect on boosting the immune system and giving protection against illnesses, including cancer, and they found that it actually does!  A lot of people use fresh turmeric in their smoothies and juices, as well as in porridge, stews and curries.
ENERGETIC BEETS

Ingredients
Beetroot - about the size of a tennis ball
Carrots x2 small and 1 large
Apple x1 medium
Mandarins x3 small whole (unpeeled)
2 kiwi fruits
100g turmeric

Makes about 2 glasses.

This is a tangy, zesty juice, sure to boost your energy levels as the nights draw in and the days shorten.  Beetroot is high in immune-boosting vitamin C, fibre, and minerals like potassium (essential for healthy nerve and muscle function) and manganese (good for bones, liver, kidneys and pancreas).
TURMERIC AWAKENING

Ingredients
Apples – 2 medium (3" dia) 364g
Carrots – 3 medium 183g
Celery – 3 stalks (11–12" long) 192g
Ginger root – 1 thumb (1" dia) 24g
1 medium lemon (peeled) 80g
Pears – 2 medium (or ½ ripe mango) 356g
Turmeric root – 3 thumb size (1" dia) 144g

All ingredients will yield around 32oz – or 4 servings. Shake or stir, and serve immediately to benefit from all the nutrients.
